Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia PDO Lobster Red Label 100ml – Gift Box

49,00 €

In the heart of the Reggio hills, in Montericco, where the Castle still looks out over the plains, a creation is born steeped in nearly a millennium of history. As early as 1046, according to historical accounts woven into balsamic lore, Emperor Henry III was captivated by a unique vinegar crafted in the lands of Matilda of Canossa.

It is from this ancient craft, woven from grape must, wood, time, and patience, that Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Reggio Emilia DOP is born. In Montericco, the cooked must of local Reggiano grapes is simmered gently and left to mature for years in batteries of small barrels made from different woods, where each passing season shapes its evolution.

The Red Label (Bollino Aragosta), aged for at least 12 years, reveals an elegant harmony of sweetness and acidity: velvety and well-balanced, with a rich body, inviting fruity and spiced notes, and a fresh, lingering finish.

To be savored raw, it is extraordinary drizzled over Parmigiano Reggiano, aged cheeses, rich meats, and refined desserts. Above all, it is an authentic taste of Reggio Emilia, its land, and a heritage treasured through the centuries.

Description

In the rolling hills of Reggio Emilia, within the hamlet of Montericco in Albinea, a timeless excellence is born: Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Montericco. It is crafted in the shadow of the ancient castle overlooking the entire Po Valley—a place steeped in history and charm, where on the clearest days, the gaze stretches all the way to the silhouette of the Alps.

Here, land and tradition unite under the expert guidance of master vinegar makers, who passionately safeguard knowledge passed down through the centuries. From local grape must slowly simmered over an open fire to patient aging in wooden casks, every step is nurtured with devotion and care.

The origins of this nectar trace back to 1046, when it was presented as a treasured gift to emperors and nobility. Today, as then, every drop captures a harmonious balance between artistry, patience, and nature: dense, lustrous, with an intense bouquet and a complex, balanced palate.

Every bottle represents a small-batch artisan creation, truly unique and unrepeatable, shaped by the rhythm of the seasons and the intuition of the master vinegar maker.

A rare, authentic creation born of an extraordinary place, sharing the true soul of its terroir with every single taste.
